Plumber Cape Schanck: Cape Schanck Road Leaking toilet

Orbit plumbing gets a lot of jobs involving toilet leaks so when Orbit plumbing received a phone call from a client explaining they had a small stream of water flowing from the cistern into the pan, Orbit plumbing asked the client for their details so they could send someone around to fix the problem.

When the Mornington Peninsula Plumber arrived, he introduced himself to the client and proceeded to follow the client into their house to investigate the job. The plumber opened the toilet lid to inspect the flow of water. They could see the water as it connected with the water in the pan so they then opened the cistern to see if they could identify the cause of the leak.

The plumber was surprised when he removed the cistern to see that the water was not flowing into the overflow as he expected it to be, but this was also a good thing because it narrowed down the problems to what it could be. The plumbers next move was to check the seating washer on the bottom of the flush valve. When he removed the flush valve he noticed that the seating washer was swollen and beginning to deteriorate.

The plumber replaced the seating washer and re-installed the flush valve. Once the toilet was filled the plumber flushed the toilet a few times to make sure the leak was gone.
