Plumber Frankston South: Bundy Steet Cistern Inlet Valve Replacement

Orbit Plumbing’s Frankston South Plumbers received a call from a customer who had informed us that their toilet was continually running into the toilet bowl from the toilets cistern. They had no idea what was going wrong although our Somerville Plumbers are experts in all things toilets and we spoke with the customer, asked them a few questions and we had a fairly good idea what was wrong.

You never really know until you arrive at a job what could be the real issue and often even then you can not know as the job may be underground or in a position that is not visible. We don’t expect our Frankston Plumbing customers to tell us the exact problem over the phone as we know they are not Mornington Peninsula plumbers.

We sent our Mornington Plumber to the job and upon arrival they discovered that the Cistern inlet valve had broken due to old age and was just running forever. The water would overflow into the toilet bowl.

Luckily when they were inventing toilets someone came up with the great idea for a plumbing product of having a safe guard for failing Cistern Inlet Valves otherwise they could end up flooding your whole house. We think its much better the water is down the toilet bowl until you notice the leak and then you should be able to turn the toilets water isolation valve off while waiting for a plumber.

Our Mount Eliza Plumber replaced the Cistern Inlet valve and also had to change the old copper pipe for a new flexible hose to make it compatible with the new parts. This job was finished in about 20 minutes and our customer was over the moon that it was such a quick and easy job.
