Plumber Frankston South: Heritage Avenue Replacement Cistern Inlet valve

Ah toilets seem to have so many problems from the past, Orbit Plumbing’s Mount Martha Plumber says often that its a wonder why no body has invented a toilet that requires no future maintenance. On this occasion our Somerville Plumber “Daniel received a call about a toilet that was continually running into the bowl. It is pretty standard stuff really!

Our Frankston South Plumber is kept very busy replacing all of the parts in toilets. There are so many different makes and models these days but luckily a lot of the parts that are used in these toilets are easy to source. Our Mount Eliza Plumber explains that if you have some kind of leak inside the toilet or at the mini stop or flexible hose or even at the flush pipe at the rear of the toilet in between the cistern and the pan then usually any leak issues can be resolved within 30 minutes although if you have a leak coming from your pan collar this can sometimes be a lot more tricky and a lot of the time this kind of leak will result in a toilet replacement especially if the toilet is very old.

On this job Obit’s Plumber Frankston & Mornington Plumber were assigned to rectify this leaking toilet and when they arrived they could clearly see that not only the Cistern inlet valve needed replacing but the Cistern seating washer, flexible hose and mini stop also needed a replacement. This is no problem for our Mornington Peninsula Plumbers as we carry a huge range of plumbing products inside our vans at all times to reduce time spent travelling back and forth to the plumbing supplies store.

We turned the water off to the property so that we could remove and replace the mini stop along with the chrome cover plate. Once this was done we removed the ancient looking cistern inlet valve and replaced it with a new one. We then switched the old seating washer for a new outlet seal and turned the water on again after connecting the new flexible hose. We flushed the toilet 5 or 6 ties to test for any leaks and thoroughly ran our hands across all of the new areas to check for any dampness.

Job Complete! All within 30 minutes and the customer was over the moon.
