Plumber Frankston: Valley Road Blocked Storm Water Drain

It must be blockage season as all of our Mornington Peninsula Plumbers and Frankston Plumbers are getting called out lately almost on a daily basis for newly discovered blockages. Our Somerville plumber thinks it is because we are in the middle of summer and then all of the sudden we get extreme down pours of rain. You would think Mornington Plumbing is more like tropical North Queensland at the moment.

The reasons for these blockages do have a lot to do with the weather in most cases. In summer the ground dries out which contracts the soils and earth around the pipes. When the rains come down and the ground becomes wet, the ground the expands and in a lot of situations the ground pulls the pipes apart, twists and damages the piping in the ground. Especially if it is old piping, 90mm pvc piping is bad for this also.

The new plumbing regulations by the Victorian Building Authority is that we must now use 100mm pvc for storm water piping so as long as your plumbing products are put together properly then you wont run into many problems.

If you live in a Sandy area like our Rosebud Plumber, Rye Plumber or Blairgowrie Plumber Customers then the pipes pulling apart is not such a big issue as the water absorbs into the ground very well.

At this job in particular our Baxter plumber & Langwarrin South Plumbers used the pipe camera and locator to locate this blockage, dig it up and replace the section of pipe. They also found other blockages on the same job and cleared them up as well.

If you need your blockages fixed up just give orbit Plumbing a call and we can help.
