Plumber Rye: Ridley Street Replacement Pan Collar

Our Plumber Mornington tells us that pan collars are a big part of toilet leaking problems. Anything that is made with rubber will eventually deteriorate when it is being used often. In this case “Daniel” who is Orbit Plumbing’s Somerville Plumber received a call for a job in Ridley street, Rye were a toilet was continually leaking from the pan collar. the customer explained that every time they flushed the toilet that it would drip at the rear all over the floor and customer was worried that it may cause more damage in the coming future.

Our Frankston Plumber and Mount Martha Plumber together arrived at the job and investigated the issue. They found that the toilet was a back to wall toilet so they needed to remove the entire toilet to gain access to the pan collar.

Orbit plumbing’s Mount Eliza Plumber explains that sometimes when this problem occurs it is hard to remove the screws on a very old toilet and they need to be smashed with a hammer to actually get them out of the way to repair the pan collar. When this happens it always becomes a new toilet plumbing products installation.

Our Mornington Peninsula Plumbers easily removed the back to wall toilet after disconnecting the water supply. They then replaced the old pan collar for a new one with the same dimensions and then pushed the toilet back into position again. They connected the water up once more and then ran testing on the toilet to ensure that the problem was resolved.

The customer was very happy with the outcome of this job as it was achieved within 30 minutes and the cost was kept low for the customer. Its not always this case though as explained above, if the toilet is screwed down this kind of job can take a bit longer. Either way it was great to another Happy customer!
