The Inline Water Tank Pump | Orbit Plumbing

There are many types of pumps, one of the most common styles of pumps is the inline pump. Orbits Plumber Frankston say’s that most water tank systems are installed with these types of pumps. There are a lot of rain water tanks installed with sump pumps as well but the inline is usually a better option for this kind of set up.

Our Mornington Peninsula Plumbers customers prefer this option as it is kept outside of the tank and is easier to fix or replace if there are any troubles with them. One of the best Pump brands is the Davey Pumps. These pumps will normally give you a 10 year life span without any trouble.

The version of inline pump that you can see in the photo below is a pump that connects directly to the tank. The pump then senses when a tap is open and drawing water and sucks the water from the tank and pumps it to the outlets. You can also get different versions of inline pumps that come with more advanced Rain bank controllers. These usually have a connection to the mains water supply as well and a sensor that registers how much water is inside the tank and whether or not it should use mains supply or rain water.

Orbits Mornington Plumber is very experienced with these pumps and explains that without extra filtration they can only be installed to provide non potable water to the toilet and washing machine. Luckily the toilet is the fixture that uses the most amount of water in your home so you can make the most of your rain water.
